Vigilant Residents Contribute to Arrests in Dollard-des-Ormeaux

Dollard-des-Ormeaux, May 28, 2026 — Thanks to the vigilance and collaboration of residents in Dollard-des-Ormeaux, the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) has made several arrests and observed a decrease in break-ins in certain sectors of the city.

Following two community meetings held in March in partnership with Police Station 4 (PDQ 4) and the City of Dollard-des-Ormeaux, several residents expressed their willingness to collaborate and quickly provided police with relevant reports. This community mobilization, combined with ongoing work and presence of the City’s Municipal Patrol, helped directly support police operations on the ground and strengthen neighbourhood safety.

During the May council meeting, PDQ 4 Commander Annie Mercier highlighted the exceptional engagement of Dollard-des-Ormeaux residents.

“The residents of Dollard-des-Ormeaux demonstrated great vigilance and a genuine commitment to the safety of their community. Their timely and relevant reports directly supported police operations on the ground, leading to concrete results,” she said, while also thanking citizens for their trust and continued collaboration.

Mayor Alex Bottausci also praised the community’s mobilization, the work of the Municipal Patrol and the strong partnership between the City and the SPVM.

“In Dollard-des-Ormeaux, we look out for one another and take an active role in the safety of our neighbourhoods. The collaboration between residents, our Municipal Patrol, and the SPVM has been instrumental in delivering concrete results. This strong civic spirit defines our City,” he stated, also thanking the SPVM “for their proactive approach, their attentiveness to residents’ concerns, and their continued presence on the ground. The partnership between the City and PDQ 4 continues to produce tangible results for our community.”

The City of Dollard-des-Ormeaux and PDQ 4 remind residents that collaboration between citizens and police services remains essential in maintaining safe and welcoming living environments for all.
