Liberal Party of Canada Announces Campaign Manager and Deputy Campaign Manager

Ottawa, Ontario  – Justin Trudeau and the Liberal Party of Canada today announced that Andrew Bevan will be the campaign manager for the next federal election, and Marjorie Michel will be the deputy campaign manager.

“The Liberal team is focused on delivering results for Canadians, including putting more money in their pockets with $10 a day child care, making housing more affordable by building nearly 4 million new homes, strengthening our public health care system with dental care and pharmacare, and building a strong economy that works for all Canadians while creating new middle-class jobs,” said Justin Trudeau, Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada. “As a leader, Andrew Bevan has advanced progressive priorities for over 30 years. With his extensive experience at the highest levels of provincial and federal politics, he is ready – with the support of Marjorie Michel and the entire Liberal campaign team – to build a winning campaign that focuses on the priorities of Canadians and stands up for a better future for all.”

Andrew began his political career volunteering in the 1993 federal election in the riding of Don Valley West for the late John Godfrey. He served as Director of Policy and Communications during Stéphane Dion’s leadership race, before serving as his Chief of Staff and Principal Secretary in Opposition from 2007 to 2008. From 2013 to 2018, Andrew also served as Chief of Staff and Principal Secretary to Premier Kathleen Wynne and was a senior advisor to her in two provincial elections. Last October, Andrew joined the Liberal government as Chief of Staff to the Deputy Prime Minister and Senior Advisor to the Prime Minister, where he helped develop and implement the most recent federal budget.

Marjorie is an experienced Liberal political organizer with deep roots in Quebec. She currently serves as Deputy Chief of Staff to the Premier. Previously, she served as Chief of Staff to the Minister of Families, Children and Social Development and President of the Treasury Board in the current Liberal government. Marjorie specializes in Quebec operations and mobilization, a role she held during the last three federal campaigns for the Liberal Party. During the 2019 and 2021 campaigns, Marjorie served as the Liberal Party’s Director of Campaign Operations in Quebec. She also served as Co-Chair of the 2021 Quebec campaign.

“While Pierre Poilievre’s Conservatives try to cut programs Canadians rely on and take Canada backwards, Justin Trudeau and the Liberal Party of Canada are the only team with a real plan to make life more affordable, strengthen public health care, take strong climate action and grow the middle class,” said Andrew Bevan. “Liberals across the country are ready to fight to defend our progress, continue to build a strong, people-centred economy and stop the Conservatives from cutting the programs and services Canadians need right now. Building on the work the Liberal Party has done to engage with more Canadians than ever before, we will build a winning campaign to re-elect Justin Trudeau and even more Liberal MPs and keep Canada moving forward.”

The Liberal Party of Canada’s grassroots fundraising and organizing position is one of its best ever. This year alone, it has already held eight Days of Action to connect with even more Canadians, and trained over 3,000 volunteers through over 23 campaign schools in preparation for the upcoming election. And during the month that Jagmeet Singh bowed to Pierre Poilievre’s demands and the Conservatives attempted to call an early election, the party had its best September for online fundraising outside of an election year.
