چترال: چترال میں امریکی شہری نے کشمیر مارخور کا کامیاب شکار کیا۔ مارخور ہنٹنگ ٹرافی کا اس سیزن کا یہ تیسرا شکار ہے۔ گہریت گول کمیونٹی ریزرو میں امریکی شہری رابرٹ مایلزہال نے مارخور کا شکار کیا۔مارخور کی عمر آٹھ سال ہے جبکہ اس کی سینگوں کی لمبای اٹتیس انچ ہے۔امریکی شہری نے ایک لاکھ پچیس ہزار امریکی ڈالر کے عوض یہ شکارکیا جس کا پاکستانی کرنسی میں تین کروڑ پچھتر لاکھ روپے بنتی ہے۔

اس سے پہلے بھی ہنٹنگ ٹرافی کے تحت دو مرتبہ مارخور کا شکار ہوچکا ہے جبکہ اس سیزن کا یہ تیسرا شکار ہے ڈویژنل فارسٹ آفیسر وایلڈ لایف فاروق نبی کے مطابق ہنٹنگ ٹرافی سے ملنے والی رقم میں سے اسی فیصد مقامی لوگوں کو دی جاتی ہے جبکہ بیس فی صد سرکاری خزانے میں جمع کی جاتی ہے۔

ہنٹنگ ٹرافی سے ملنے والی رقم سے ان پسماندہ علاقوں میں اکثر ترقیاتی اور بحال کاری کے کام کیا جاتا ہے جن میں پل، راستے وغیرہ شامل ہیں۔ ہنٹنگ ٹرافی کیلیے بین الاقوامی سطح پر بولی لگتی ہے جس میں کامیاب بولی دہندہ کو شکار کا لایسنس ملتا ہے جو شاہ شاہ، گہریت وغیرہ میں مارخور کا شکار کرتا ہے جبکہ چترال گول نیشنل پارک میں ہر قسم کے قانونی شکار پر بھی پابندی ہے ۔ وہاں چوری چپے شکار تو ہوتا ہے مگر ہنٹنگ ٹرافی کے تحت وہاں شکار پر پابندی ہے۔ وہاں تین ہزار کے لگ بھگ مارخور بستے ہیں جن میں اکثر عمر رسیدہ مارخور گاوں کا رح بھی کرتے ہیں اور اکثر آوارہ کتوں کا شکار بن جاتا ہے۔ مقامی لوگوں کا مطالبہ ہے کہ چترال گول نیشنل پارک کے آس پاس بفر زون میں ان عمر رسیدہ مارخوروں کی شکار کی اجازت دی جایے جو بڑھاپے کی وجہ سے خود بخود مر جاتے ہیں۔ اگر ان کمزور، لاغر اور عمر رسیدہ مارخوروں کی شکار کی اجازت مل جایے تو اس سے چترال کو کروڑوں روپے کی آمدنی ایے گی اور اس سے کافی سارے ترقیاتی کام بھی پایہ تکمیل تک پہنچ سکتے ہیں۔

3^rd Hunting trophy of Markhor in Chitral. American citizen Mr. Robert Myles Hall successfully hunted Kashmir Markhor.

CHITRAL: American citizen successfully hunted Kashmir Markhor in Chitral. This is the third hunting of Markhor Hunting Trophy of this season. American citizen Mr. Robert Myles Hall, hunted Markhor in Gahriat Gol Community Reserve. The Markhor is eight years old, and its horns are thirty-eight inches long. American citizen paid $125000 in Pakistani rupees 37500000 paid for this hunting trophy by hunter.

Markhor has been hunted twice before under the hunting trophy in this season, while this is the third hunt of this season. 80% given to local community of total amount while 20% percentage is collected in the government treasury.

Amount collected from hunting trophies are often used for development and rehabilitation works in these backward areas, including bridges, roads, etc. Bidding for the hunting trophy takes place at the international level in which the successful bidder gets a hunting license to hunt Markhor in Shah Shah, Gahriyat etc. while all kinds of legal hunting is totally prohibited in Chitral Gol National Park the protected area for wild life habitant. There is often stealth hunting (illegally), but there is a ban on hunting even under the hunting trophy. There are about three thousand Markhors living there, in which most of the elderly Markhors also visit the village and often become victims of stray dogs. The local people are demanding that hunting of the ill, aging Markhors, which die spontaneously due to old age, should be allowed in the buffer zone around the Chitral Gol National Park. If hunting of these weak, emaciated and aged Markhors is allowed, it will bring income of million of rupees to Chitral and many developmental works can also be completed.
