Renota Wade: A Model for Future Female Revenue Cycle Strategists

(Dr. Naeem Ul Hassan)

Due to their outstanding career success despite obstacles, numerous female revenue cycle strategists may serve as role models for future female professionals in their field. Renota Wade, a multi-award-winning revenue cycle strategist and entrepreneur, is one of these exemplars. Chicago, Illinois-based Wade has a strong track record of reducing errors, enhancing claim resolution rates, and ensuring adherence to regulations.

“My name is Renota Wade, and I’ve worked in multi-site healthcare systems for over 23 years, handling complicated claim denials, optimizing revenue processes, and increasing operational efficiency. My expertise includes payer relations, team leadership, process improvements, and compliance management. I am running multiple organizations such as TOUCH Foundation and Elite Revenue Recovery, LLC,” Wade shared in introduction.

Elite Revenue Recovery, LLC, offers a range of services, including accounts receivable clean-up, trend analysis and interpretation, workflow optimization, and general consulting.

Wade launched Elite Revenue Recovery in 2014, taking on client projects while still working full time, but decided to take on clients full time in December 2025. She may serve as a role model for working female students since she has demonstrated that balancing work and education may be challenging but not impossible.

Wade is also the Founder & Executive Director of Holistic Healing with Renota and the TOUCH Foundation, a trauma-informed nonprofit dedicated to fostering resilience and stability. Her unique blend of personal experience and a holistic, trauma-informed approach allows her to connect with her clients on a deeper level, fostering a safe and empathetic environment for transformation.

“I founded the Touch Foundation because I believed that trauma-informed organizations are crucial for fostering safety, resilience, and healing for clients and employees in today’s complex, high-stress workplace. We offer secure, empowering environments for those dealing with OCD, PTSD, Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety, Depression, and other trauma-related issues. Through Holistic Healing with Renota, I help adults who are feeling lost or overwhelmed due to past traumas find balance, clarity, and transformation through a compassionate, holistic approach,” explained Wade.

Wade’s accomplishments set her apart from other female professionals in her industry. She has received several honors, including recognition from Who’s Who and a Foundation of Leadership Certificate from the National Society of Leadership and Success. The International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP) just named her Top Revenue Cycle Strategist & CEO of the Year for her outstanding leadership and dedication to the industry.

She has been inducted into NSLS as well as the Delta Mu Delta International Honor Society in Business’ Pi Gamma chapter. She was elected to a third term as the AAPC Chicago, IL chapter’s vice president, and during her first year in that position (2024), she received the Certificate of Recognition, which is granted to just one individual annually.

Wade’s strong academic background has contributed significantly to her outstanding career success.

“I graduated summa cum laude (3.97 GPA) with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration from Colorado Technical University. I started my business in 2014 and completed my master’s degree in 2025. Continuing my education while working and running a business was really difficult, but I managed to do it with resilience, hard work, and dedication. I believe having a clear, meaningful purpose acts as a catalyst, turning what appear to be ‘impossible’ challenges into achievable tasks,” she said.

Revenue Cycle Management is a rewarding and growing career path. It gives professionals the opportunity to have a significant impact on healthcare facilities’ financial operations, guaranteeing that services are paid for and that patients receive equitable treatment. Career role models like Wade are crucial because they can provide young professionals in their industries the inspiration, motivation, and guidance they need to thrive in the competitive workplace of today.

“Revenue cycle management professionals should have a bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or a similar field and strong leadership skills. They need to be skilled with end-to-end RCM software and have experience in the healthcare billing industry. They also need to be able to reduce claim denial rates and improve patient collections.

I am a wonderful example of the fact that success comes to those who embrace challenges. I grew up in an underserved neighborhood on the south side of Chicago, but it made me more determined to want and do more.

I had a significant loss at an early age; at the age of 25, my mother passed away, leaving me to raise my teenage brothers while still having a young and growing family of my own. I had my first child at 17, but despite everything, I decided to develop a mindset that would enable me to overcome any obstacle or hardship that comes my way.

Another major obstacle was balancing job, school, and business, but I conquered it with resilience, hard work, and dedication, which contributed much to my career success.

Dear young professionals, work hard and develop resilience in your personal and professional lives. In today’s fast-paced, high-pressure workplace, workplace resilience is a critical, valuable skill. Resilient professionals are better equipped to navigate setbacks, maintain productivity, and recover from failures.”
